Only 23% of Mexican schools have adopted Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in their educational practices, with ChatGPT being the most popular choice.

The most recent statistics show that only 23% of Mexican schools have incorporated Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into their educational practices, with ChatGPT being the most commonly used. However, a closer look reveals a significant gap: while AI tools are being used in school operations, they are primarily employed for administrative and operational functions rather than educational improvement. This trend highlights a systemic challenge: the lack of proper documentation and resources to effectively utilize AI for educational purposes, thereby limiting its potential to transform the learning experience.

Despite the increasing presence of AI in various sectors, including education, the use of these technologies in Mexican schools mainly focuses on streamlining administrative tasks, managing resources, and improving operational efficiency. ChatGPT, known for its natural language processing capabilities, is prominently used for communication, managing inquiries, and automating routine administrative processes within educational institutions. While these applications offer tangible benefits in terms of time and resource optimization, they represent only a fraction of AI's potential in revolutionizing teaching and learning methods.

The limited integration of AI into educational practices highlights the need for comprehensive documentation and training resources tailored to educators and administrators. The absence of structured guidance and support impedes the seamless adoption of AI-driven educational tools, leaving educators uncertain about their efficacy and applicability in classroom settings. Without accessible resources and clear guidelines on incorporating AI into pedagogical strategies, educators may struggle to harness its transformative potential in fostering personalized learning experiences, facilitating adaptive instruction, and cultivating critical thinking skills among students.

Addressing the documentation gap and providing tailored training initiatives are crucial steps in unlocking the transformative power of AI in education. By empowering educators with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively integrate AI into teaching practices, Mexican schools can utilize the full spectrum of AI-driven tools to enhance learning experiences, promote innovation, and nurture future-ready skills among students. Moreover, fostering a culture of continuous learning and experimentation will be instrumental in catalyzing the evolution of AI from a mere operational tool to a cornerstone of educational excellence in Mexico's dynamic learning landscape.
